Another new fall drama has perished: Late Friday, ABC pulled the plug on the sudsy 8 p.m. Thursday hour My Generation, taking the show off its schedule and halting production on future episodes. The move had been expected following last week’s underwhelming premiere and this week’s even lower-rated second episode. Though it joins Fox’s Lone Star on the fall 2010 casualty list, unlike the Fox show, critics were pretty tough on My Generation. The ABC series, from producers Noah Hawley and Warren Littlefield, suffered from a super-competitive 8 p.m. Thursday time slot and a widely panned marketing campaign that gave viewers zero idea what the hell the show was about. No word yet on what will replace My Generation, but it seems likely ABC will go with repeats of either Grey’s Anatomy or No Ordinary Family in the short term. Meanwhile, another teetering series — NBC’s reboot of the civilian version of The Apprentice — is still scheduled to air next Thursday at 10 p.m., with industry insiders speculating the Peacock may give the show one more week before relocating it to another night.
